Alana Wyld is the 2018 and 2019 New York State Capital Region Blues Challenge Solo Artist Winner, twice representing the Northeastern region in the prestigious International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis TN. Winner of the 2019 CRBN Band Division challenge, she is again heading to Memphis TN to showcase in the 2020 International Blues Challenge together with band mates Richard Surrano (harp/vocals), Per Bergquist (bass/vocals) and Phil Nestor (drums) representing New York State’s Capital Region Blues Network in the IBC 2020 Band Division.
On April 14, 2019, Wyld Blu was awarded the “2019 Blues Artist of the Year” Thomas Edison Music Award (The Eddies). The band also performed at the gala event and ceremony held at Proctors Theater, NY.
A prolific and accomplished writer, her undeniable songwriting skills landed her two spots on the American Blues compilation album for Live Aid International based in Rome, Italy. A non-profit project, the proceeds support cultural music education for children in developing nations.
Wyld’s debut album is set for release in 2019. What can fans expect? What she calls blues tapestry – a Wyld musical tapestry. “Flavors of Rock, Funk, R&B, Country, and a whole lotta Blues!”
Alana Wyld & Wyld Blu are repeat headliners at numerous venues, festivals, corporate and private events throughout the Catskills, Hudson Valley, Capital Region, NY/Tri-State area & surrounding regions. A National tour is on the calendar for 2020.
